was how dumb it was
as if government dwelt in
a single pregnable room

alas cowardice
lies like a plague on the land
also foolishness
& the belief that grousing
is a political act

termites have captured
all the wood in the structure—
so termite-rotten,
seems just a matter of time
until the ceiling falls in

but one thing i know:
