the rain unending · across ruined blocks
tentacular · and hungry

a dark blur · in translucent ice
the dead city · omits its veils
only this once · and we wend gratefully
through utterly intelligible · vectors of destruction

the squamous ideology · of rain runs
through all the turned-down heads · and the clouds that hang
black rivulets · the path voided
the promise kept · as the targ smokes
