Consensus, like the commons, does have its centrifugal force: but hardly anyone can be brought to see that it is a matter of preserving the possibility of justice, that we maintain it.
"The Process
how much more
will I see
or see again:
the problem
hurts. I have
no eyes to
see it, no
flesh or time
to see it
through. A day
walks from sun
to shadow
on grass wet
from a last
sweet rain. It
solves itself
outside me
in the air.
I am with
the old men
watching one
spring go out."
